San Francisco-based
Vir Biotechnology, a new startup which says it is developing cures, treatments, and preventions for challenging infectious diseases, said today that it has raised $150M in funding, and launched the startup. The company is led by former Biogen CEO George Scangos. The funding was led by ARCH Venture Partners and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and also included un-named sovereign wealth funds, public mutual funds and individuals and family offices.
