Invitae Buys CancerGene Connect For $6M
San Francisco-based Invitae, a provider of genetic testing services, says it has acquired Ommdom Inc., the operator of CancerGene Connect, an online software platform which helps collect and manage family genetic history. Invitae said it paid approximately $6M in its common stock for all of Ommdom's outstanding capital stock. Invitae said the buy will help it expand its offerings patients and clinicians use genetic information as part of mainstream medical care. Invitae is led by Sean George.
