Kongregate Acquired By Modern Times Group
San Francisco-based online social gaming site Kongregate announced today that it has been acquired by Modern Times Group (MTG), in a deal worth $55M. Kongregate--which was owned by GameStop--offers up free-to-play games online as well as through mobile apps. Kongregate is led by co-founder and CEO Emily Greer.
