Coinbase Gets $100M In Series D
San Francisco-based Coinbase, which operates an online exchange for digital currencies such as Bitcoin, Ethereum and Litecoin, has raised $100M in a Series D funding round. The funding was led by IVP, and also included Spark Capital, Greylock Partners, Battery Ventures, Section 32 and Draper Associates. The company said funding goes towards expanding its engineering and customer support teams, opening up an office in New York City, and investing in digital currency and payments effort Toshi.
