San Ramon-based
Accela, a developer of software for state, county and municipal governments, has been acquired by private equity investor
Berkshire Partners. Financial details of thea cquisition were not announced. According to Berkshire Partners, Abry Partners, an existing shareholder in Accela, will remain an investor in the company. Acella's software helps governments engage with their citizens, and also handles permitting, licensing, land usage, and other operations.
