San Francisco-based
CoreOS, the developer of Kubernetes and other container software, hsa been acquired by
Red Hat, in a deal worth $250M. According to Red Hat, it will use the acquisition to bolster its Kubernetes and container-based portfolio, including Red hat OpenShift. CoreOS was founded in 2013, and was venture backed by Google Ventures, KPCB, Sequoia Capital, Andreessen Horowitz, Intel Capital, Accel, and Fuel.
