Google Sells Zagat
Mountain View-based Google is selling restaurant review website Zagat, to a new startup restaurant review company, The Infatuation. Financial details of the deal--first detailed by an interview in the New York Times--have not been announced. Zagat had acquired by Google in September of 2011, in a deal that had been worth $151M. Google had reworked Zagat from a paywall driven service into a free, mobile-enabled service, specifically to combat the rise of Yelp.
