Virtual Power Systems (VPS), a developer of data center power management systems, has raised $17M in a Series B funding. The funding was led by CUI Global, and also include the "majority" of the company's prior investors. Those investors were not named. According to thecompany, the funding will go towards R&D and marketing, among other growth efforts. Steve Houck is CEO of Virtual Power Systems. The company's systems allow for the software control of power and energy for data center racks, nodes, and workloads. The company says its products use artificial intelligence and machine learning to made adjustments to uninterruptible power systems, generators, power distribution units, battery backups and power supply units.
