Riverbed Technology said Tuesday that it has agreed to acquire
Mazu Networks, a developer of products for monitoring WAN performance. The deal was worth $25M in cash. According to Riverbed, Mazu will become a new business unit of the firm. Mazu Networks is based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and develops software for reporting on application usage and performance over WANs. Riverbed also said that the deal also includes up to $22m in earnout, based on revenue targets. Mazu was venture backed by Greylock Partners, Matrix Partners, Pilot House Ventures, StarVest Partners, and Symantec.
