Virginia-based webMethods is buying Cupertino-based Infravio for $38M in cash, webMethods said this morning. Infravio develops service-oriented architecture (SOA) software that is used by enterprises to connect internal software components. Infravio's customers include Allianz Life, Level 3 Communications, Lockheed Martin, The McGraw-Hill Companies, MCI-Verizon, Providence Health System, and Sprint-Nextel. The firm has received funding from Walden International and Crystal Ventures.
