NetApp Buys Topio
Sunnyvale-based Network Appliance said today that it has agreed to acquire Topio, a Santa Clara-based data storage software firm, for $160M in cash. Topio develops continuous data protection software used for replicating and backing up data over distance. NetApp said the acquisition is expected to close in December. Topio will become a new business unit within NetApp, and continue to maintain is R&D in Haifa, Israel.
