MontaVista Gets $21M
Santa Clara-based MontaVista Software has raised $21M in funding, the firm said Monday. The round was led by Siemens Venture Capital, and included NEC, Alloy Ventures, US Venture Partners, Aplix, and others. MontaVista is a developer of embedded Linux operating systems used for the development of real-time embedded software applications. MontaVista said the funding would be used primarily to build cash reserves. MontaVista competes against companies like Wind River Systems and other providers of real time operating systems (RTOS).
