Santa Clara-based Hitachi Data Systems, the data storage arm of Hitachi, Ltd. said Monday afternoon that it is acquiring Waltham, Massachussets-based Archivas. Archivas is a provider of software for managing fixed-content data, such as email, documents, and databases. Details of the transaction were not released, however, Hitachi said it will hold a conference call Tuesday morning to discuss details of the acquisition.
