Sunnyvale-based online search engine Yahoo! said Monday evening that it has appointed Yahoo! Co-founder Jerry Yang as CEO of the firm, replacing current CEO Terry Semel. The firm said that Semel will become non-executive Chairman of the firm's board of directors. Yahoo also appointed Susan Decker, former EVP and head of the firm's Advertiser and Publisher Group, as President. The move comes as Semel has increasingly been under fire for lack of gains in combating the growth of Google. The firm said that Semel will not receive a severance package with the move, as he continues on as Chairman of the firm.
