Mountain View-based SolFocus, a provider of solar energy systems, said this morning that it has raised $52M in a venture round. The company, which develops photovoltaic concentrators, trackers, and other technology for the solar energy market, said that $27.5M of the funding will go to finance SolFocus Europe, and the remainder will go towards a Series B financing for SolFocus, Inc. The funding came from New Enterprise Associates, and also included Moser Baer India, Ltd., David Gelbaum, Metasystem Group, NGEN Partners, Yellowstone Capital Inc., and others. The $52M investment follows an earlier, $32M Series A funding that the company received last year.
