Trend Micro Acquires Provilla
Tokyo-based Trend Micros said Thursday that it is acquiring Cupertino-based Provilla, a provider of software used for data leak prevention. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. Provilla will become a part of a Trend Micro subsidiary. Provila's technology is used to prevent the transmission of sensitive data outside of businesses. The firm is backed by Hitachi Systems and angel investors, and was founded in February of 2005.
