Greenplum Adds $27M
San Mateo-based database software firm Greenplum said this morning that it has raised $27M in a Series C round of financing, led by Meritech Capital Partners. Other investors in the firm included Sun Microsystems and SAP ventures. Greenplum also said its other existing investors participated in the round. The firm develops databases specifically designed for business intelligence queries; the funding will go towards continued development of its software, and for sales and marketing. Greenplum's business intelligence database software is based on the open source PostgresSQL database.
