San Mateo-based
Greenplum, a developer of data warehousing software, has been acquired by storage giant
EMC. Financial terms of the all-cash transaction were not disclosed. EMC said that Greenplum will become a new data computing product division, within its Information Infrastructure business. Greenplum was backed by Dawntreader, EDF Ventures, Hudson Ventures, Meritech Capital Partners, Mission Ventures, SAP ventures, Sierra Ventures, and Sun Microsystems. The firms said that Greenplum CEO will join EMC, leading the new data computing product division, and report to Pat Gelsinger.
