Palo Alto-based virtual server software VMware said Tuesday that the firm's hypervisor will be embedded in servers from Dell, Fujitsu Siemens Computers, HP and IBM. VMware said that the server makers will include VMware ESX 3i hypervisor software pre-integrated into servers from the manufacturers; financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. According to VMware, the deal also includes access to an evaluation version of VMware Infrastructure 3. VMware's hypervisor allows users to run multiple operating system images simultaneously on a single physical PC; the upgraded VMware Infrastructure 3 software coordinates and moves virtual images across a pool of systems.
