Yahoo Opens Israeli Research Lab
Sunnyvale-based Yahoo! said Tuesday that it has launched a new research lab in Haifa, Israel, which will focus on web search technology for the firm. The new lab will be headed by Dr. Ronny Lempel, an information organization and retrieval export. The move to open an Israeli R&D arm follows a recent, similar move where it opened up a R&D office in Bangalore, India. Lempel was most recently at IBM's Haifa Research Laboratory.
