Cray, Intel Team On Supercomputing
Cray Inc. and Intel said Monday morning that the two have signed a multi-year agreement to use Intel microprocessors in future Cray server systems. According to the two, the agreement calls for Cray to advance high performance computing (HPC) on Intel microprocessors. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. The companies aid they plan to explore supercomputer component designs such as multi-core processing and advanced interconnects.
