Macrovision Buys Technology From ThoughtWorthy Media
Santa Clara-based Macrovision Solutions said today that it has acquired certain website and technology assets from ThoughtWorthy Media, a provider of technology for allowing TV viewers to identify and purchase music and products on television. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. According to Macrovision Solutions, the deal is part of a transaction originally entered into by Gemstar-TV Guide International in January. Macrovision said the impact of the deal would not be material to the financial operations of Gemstar, prior to its acquisition by Macrovision. Macrovision said it would use ThoughtWorthy's technology in its online properties.
