Mountain View-based Multiverse, a developer of online virtual worlds, said today that it has inked a deal with James Cameron to create a new, educational virtual world based on the Titanic. According to Multiverse, a new site "Places in time:Titanic" will feature original digital footage, computer modes, and data from James Cameron. The company said that the site will allow virtual explorers to experience the Titanic and the events in real time or condensed time. Separately, Multiverse also announced a new product called "Places" which combines social networking with its 3D virtual worlds, and an accompanying Facebook application.
