Azul Systems, a manufacturer of enterprise server appliances for Java applications, reported Thursday that it has hired George Gould as vice president of marketing and business development. The Mountain View-based company described Gould as a marketing, product management and technical sales veteran with some 22 years of experience. Most recently, Azul Systems said, he was BEA Systems’ business unit executive. Before that, he co-founded Rearden Commerce and served as that company’s vice president of products. He was also director of products and marketing at Amplitude Software and at CenterView Software. Azul is venture backed by Accel Partners, Austin Ventures, Credit Suisse, JVax Investment Group, Meritech Capital, Redpoint Ventures, Velocity Interactive, and Worldview Technology Partners.
