Check Point Concludes Buy of Nokia Security Appliance Business
Internet security firm Check Point Software Technologies Ltd. announced late Monday evening that its acquisition of Nokia's security appliance business is complete. Financial terms of the transaction, which Check Point referred to as the "natural culmination of a 12-year strategic partnership," were not disclosed. The Redwood City-based firm explained that, as a result of the deal, businesses can now purchase former Nokia IP hardware with Check Point security software pre-installed. Check Point said that it will assume responsibility for existing Nokia customer support contracts, including support for legacy platforms and operating systems.
