San Francisco-based document sharing site Scribd reported this week that it has launched a free, branded version of its document reader aimed at media companies and blogs. The firm said the branded reader is launching with The New York Times, Los Angeles Times and Chicago Tribune, TechCrunch, The Huffington Post, and Mediabistro. The firm previously had its own, branded reader for its document service. The new branding allows those sites to feature their own logos on their embedded documents, including on other sites embedding those same documents elsewhere.
