Phoenix Technologies Looks To Sell Product Lines
Milpitas-based Phoenix Technologies, a developer of PC BIOS and related technology, said late Tuesday evening that it has retained GrowthPoint Technology Partners to explore "strategic alternatives" for its FailSafe, HyperSpace, and eSupport products and services. FailSafe is the firm's theft-loss protection service for mobile PCs, HyperSpace is a lightweight virtualization engine, and eSupport is a collection of web site and PC diagnostic software products. The firm said it has made "substantial investments" in those products over the past several years, however, that it is looking to focus its business strategy back on its core BIOS software market.
