Khosla, Gates Lead Investment In EcoMotors
Vinod Khosla and Menlo Park-based Khosla Ventures, plus Microsoft founder Bill Gates, have put their weight behind a Michigan firm developing an alternative to the traditional, gasoline engine. According to Michigan-based EcoMotors International, both Khosla and Gates are backing the firm in its Series B funding round. Amount of the investment was not disclosed. EcoMotors says it has a replacement which offers 50 percent greater fuel efficiency than conventional engines, and is half the weight and size of conventional engines.
