Playdom Acquired By Disney
Mountain View-based social games developer Playdom has been acquired by The Walt Disney Company, Disney announced Tuesday afternoon. According to Disney, Playdom shareholders will receive $563.2M, plus a performance linked earnout of up to $200M. Playdom had raised around $76M in funding, from such funds as Bessemer Venture Partners, Lightspeed Ventures, New Enterprise Associates, New World Ventures, Norwest Venture Partners, and Steamboat Ventures.
