Sunnyvale-based Zoran announced today that it has acquired Microtune, a maker of silicon tuner technology for the set-top box and digital TV market. The deal is worth approximately $166M, or $2.92 in cash for each share of Microtune common stock. The deal is worth $84M net of cash acquired. Zoran said the combined firm will benefit from technology integration and multiple cross-selling opportunities, and strengthen its position in the DTV market.
