Sonic Completes DivX Buy
Novato-based Sonic Solutions, a developer of multimedia editing and other related digital media software, said today that it has completed its acquisition of DivX, a San Diego maker of video encoding and decoding devices. The deal had originally been announced in June, and at that time was worth $323M. DivX makes software used to encode and decode video, and licensed that technology to consumer electronics device makers.
