Appcelerator, a firm that provides platforms for developing native mobile, desktop, and iPad applications, said today that it has inked a deal with PayPal to offer its mob ile commerce products through PayPal's merchant channel, and has also raised $9M in a funding round. The funding came from Sierra Ventures and eBay. Appcelerator's tools make it easier for developers to build Apple iOs, Android, BlackBerry, and other applications. Appcelerator said its deal with PayPal includes providing a mobile commerce offering called Titanium+Commerce to PayPal's merchants, starting in the first half of 2011.
