HipWay Gets Backing FromAngels
Russian travel site Hipway said this week that it has scored a $2M funding round, on top of an earlier, $750,000 seed funding, from a number of Silicon Valley angel investors. According to Hipway, the new funding came from Chamath Palihapitiya (Facebook), Michael van Swaaij (Skype), Fabrice Grinda (Zingy) and Mark Gerson (Gerson Lehrman Group). Hipway operates an online hotel booking site for the Russian consumer market.
