Blackhawk Network Buys Cardpool
Pleasanton-based Blackhawk Network, a provider of prepaid cards and other products which is a subsidiary of Safeway, said Friday that it has acquired Cardpool, the online marketplace for gift cards. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed. Cardpool's site allows users to buy, sell, and trade gift cards from retailers. Blackhawk Network said that Cardpool will remain in San Francisco.
