OpenWave Looks To Sell Business Units, Focus On Patents

said this morning that it is looking to pursue "strategic alternatives" for its mediation and messaging product business. According to the company, it has retained Jeffries & Company to advise the firm on the strategic review. The firm said it is looking to focus on its intellectual property initiatives and long term profitability with the same. OpenWave said it has over 200 "foundational patents" for the Internet that it is looking to license.
