Yahoo Names Three Board Members
Sunnyvale-based Yahoo said over the weekend that it has appointed three new, independent directors. The firm said it has named John D. Hayes, Peter Ligouria, and Thomas J. McInerney to its board. Hayes is Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer of American Express Company; Liguori, is the former Chief Operating Officer of Discovery Communications; and McInerney, is Chief Financial Officer of IAC/InterActiveCorp. Yahoo has been sparring with one of its major shareholders, Third Point, over board seats and direction of the company; Third Point said it will continue to push forward with its own proxy plan.
