Blue River Gets $3.1M For Agricultural Robotics
Are robots the answer to less hazardous pesticide and chemical use in farming? Sunnyvale-based Blue River Technologies things so, and has just raised $3.1M to put its ideas to work. The company--started by two Stanford grads--said the funding was led by Khosla Ventures, and also included Steve Blank, ULu Ventures, and Stanford Angels and Entrepreneurs. Ryan Kottenstette of Khosla joins the company's board with the funding. Blue River has created robotics technology which uses computer vision to identify and remove weeds using robots.
