Facebook Buys Speech Recognition Company Mobile Technologies
Facebook said yesterday that it has acquired Mobile Technologies, a developer of speech recognition and machine translation software. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed. Mobile Technologies will join Facebook's Menlo Park team. Facebook said the buy was important as voice technology has become "increasingly important" to navigate mobile devices and the web.
