Extreme Networks Acquires Enterasys Networks

Extreme Networks
said this morning that it has completed its acquisition of
Enterasys Networks
, a developer of data center networking products. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed. Extreme Networks said it expects the buy will double its revenues, to over $600M annually, and make it the fourth largest Ethernet networking vendor. Enterasys had been owned by The Gores Group and Siemens AG, via their joint venture, Unify (formerly Siemens Enterprise Communications).
