Celery Finds $2M Funding For Pre-Order Engine
San Francisco-based Celery announced this week that it has raised $2M in a seed funding, to go towards the company's software for helping companies to take "pre-orders"--ie, taking orders and payment information for products that have not yet shipped. The startup said the seed funding came from Y Combinator, SV Angel, Max Levchin, as well as others. Celery's corporate name is Airbrite, and its co-founders are Chris Tsai (formerly at Groupon) and Brian Nguyen.
