Swarm Mobile Acquired By Groupon
San Francisco-based Swarm Mobile, a developer of mobile analytics software that used Bluetooth, infrared, and Wi-Fi signals to help study the behavior of consumers in retail stores, has been acquired by Groupon. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed. Swarm Mobile's backers included Icon Venture Partners and Abundance Capital, and was founded by Rudd Davis and Ryan Denehy in 2012.
