Gracenote Tackles Sports With Two Acquisitions
Emeryville-based music and entertainment data company Gracenote is expanding into the sports data information world, via the acquisition of two companies, Gracenote said Thursday. Gracenote aid it acquired Infostrada Statistics, B.V. and SportsDirect, Inc., as part of the launch of a new division called Gracenote Sports. Gracenote said it paid a total of $54M for the two companies, which provides all kinds of sports data, ranging from schdules and scores to play-by-play and player stats.
