San Francisco-based private equity investor Thoma Bravo has acquired the majority stake in SSL certificate authority DigiCert, the company said today. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed. Thoma Bravo said that it is acquiring most of DigiCert from TA Associates, which will remain a minority shareholder. DigiCert is based in Lehi, Utah, and ofers up global SSL Certificate Authority (CA) services and trusted certificate management products. Although no financial terms were announced, Thoma Bravo said the deal is actually one of the largest technology investments ever made in a Utah-based business.
