San Francisco-based
Xamarin, which develops mobile development software, said last week that it has acquired
RoboVM, a developer of software for native iOS and Android development in Java. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. Xamarin said RoboVM will operate independently of each other, with Xamarin focused on C# and RoboVM focused on Java. Xamarin is venture backed by Ignition Partners, Lead Edge Capital, Insight Venture Partners, Floodgate, and Charles River Ventures.
