Yahoo says it is launching a new e-sports destination, called
Yahoo Esports, which will cover major games and events in the industry. Yahoo said it has hired a number of well known personalities in the sector, including Andrea Rene, Travis Gafford, Taylor Cocke and Dylan Walker, which will provide in-depth coverage of both players and competitions. Esports leagues--focused on professional, videogame players and teams--have seen an impressive gain in viewers. Yahoo said Eports had a global reach of over 226M in 2015, based on Newzoo's 2016 Global Esports Market Report.
