Upthere, a provider of cloud-based photo, music, video, and document storage services for the consumer market, has been acquired by
Western Digital, the two companies said on Monday. Financial details of the buy were not announced. Upthere's storage platform, which works on iPhone, iPad, Android, macOS, and Windows, will become part of Western Digital's Client Solutions business. Upthere was venture backed by KPCB and Western Digital, plus Elevation Partners, Floodgate, GV, NTT Docomo Ventures, and Square 1 Bank.
