Splunk Buys Phantom Cyber
San Francisco-based Splunk said this morning that it has agreed to acquire Palo Alto-based Phantom Cyber Corporation, a developer of security orchestration and automation tools. The deal is worth approximately $350M in cash and stock. Phantom Cyber's security tools are used to automate response to security incidents. Phantom Cyber was led by founder and CEO Oliver Friedrichs, who joins Splunk as a result of the acquisition. Phantom Cyber's backers included Blackstone, In-Q-Tel, Kleiner Perkins Caufield and Byers, Rein Capital, and TechOperators, along with angels.
