San Francisco-based
Niantic, the maker of Pokemon Go, said this morning that it has acquired videogame maker
Seismic Games. Financial details of the acquisition were not announced. Seismic was founded in 2011, and has received backing from such investors as DFJ Frontier and venture capitalist Tom Matlack. The acquisition is the fourth acquisition in the last year by Niantic, which pointed out Seismic's work with such partners as Marvel, FoxNext, Sony Television, Alcon Interactive, and others. Seismic's titles include such VR and mobile games as Marvel: Strikeforce and Blade Runner: Revelations.
