Santa Clara-based VeriSilicon Holdings, an ASIC design foundry that operates ASIC design operations in China, has raised $14.8M in a Series C venture capital round from Austin Ventures and Sierra Ventures. The company said that the funding will be used to finance the acquisition of the ZSP Digital Signal Processor unit of LSI Logic. Funding will also be used for operations, sales and marketing, and engineering. Clark Jernigan of Austin Ventures and Ben Yu of Sierra ventures will join the firm's board as part of the funding. VeriSilicon provides libraries, semiconductor IPs, design and turnkey manufacturing services for the semiconductor industry.
