Openwave Acquires WiderWeb
Redwood City-based Openwave Systems has acquired WiderWeb Limited, a developer of mobile web access software. The deal is worth $5M in cash and up to $4M in earnout. WiderWeb Limited provides software for re-formatting web content for mobile phones, in the XHTML/MP format. WiderWeb said it will integrate the technology into Openwave's mobile gateway infrastructure.
